Congratulations! You've considered your educational goals, confirmed your choice of potential future occupations, and researched the entry requirements of the occupations you have chosen. Now you know whether you will probably:
- directly enter an occupation (for example, military service);
- enroll in an employer sponsored on-the-job or apprenticeship training;
- enroll in a vocational/technical school; or
- enroll in college, and/or
- obtain some other certification or licensing (for example as a Financial Planner, Realtor, or Hair Stylist)
If you plan to go on to college or some other type of
education, you need to consider:
- types of schools
- size of program or institution
- costs
- admission requirements
- whether program is accredited
- entrance requirements
- availability of financial assistance
- residential and commuting options
- geographic location
