Ranking Your Options
You have now created a summary of your interests, abilities, needs and wants and have compared them to the information you collected on each of your potential occupations. It is now time to rank these potential occupations based on the extent to which they are consistent with your interests, utilize your abilities, and meet your needs and wants.

At this point, you may wish to add to your considerations such things as:
  • Benefits provided (health plans, savings plans, pension, etc.)
  • Opportunity for advancement and promotion
  • Occupational trends
  • Location of jobs geographically
  • Available sources of required education
  • Length and cost of such training

To find the additional information, you will find it necessary to once again use a variety of State and National Tools. Your counselor or other career development professionals can assist you in this exercise.
