Report that examines the web of services community colleges provide to help students stay in college and complete their degrees, with particular attention to strategies that will help low-income students. MDRC researchers examine five elements of a student services program: academic guidance and counseling; academic supports; personal guidance and counseling; career counseling; and supplemental supports like child care, transportation help, and book and supply vouchers. For each of these elements, the researchers "highlight innovative practices found at community colleges around the country." |
