Title: Parental Involvement and Secondary School Educational Outcomes: A Meta-Analysis

Harvard Family Research Project
A meta-analysis of parent involvement at the secondary school level reveals that: (1) parent involvement has a significant positive effect on student achievement; (2) more subtle factors such as parental style and expectations had a significant effect; and (3) these effects held for minority students and parents as well.
