The primary focus of Connecticut’s Career Resource Network (CCRN) is to coordinate, enhance and deliver career and occupational information in a variety of formats useful to its customers. |
|
Major industries include manufacturing, including transportation equipment, machinery and electronics; financial services, including insurance and investment services; health services; and pharmaceutical research and development. Bioscience and information technology are emerging, high-growth fields.
The January 2006 unemployment rate was 4.6%, as compared to 4.9% in April 2005. |

• CCRN staff participated in the Legislative Career Advisory Committee that researched and promoted career ladder programs to address workforce shortages. They also participated in the Advisory Committee for the Workforce Education Initiative, which was designed to help adult education meet skill needs and to develop a workforce education system responsive to business and labor market demands.
• CCRN publicizes and promotes the Connecticut Department of Labor's new mobile career center, which has state-of-the-art telecommunications equipment, high-speed Internet access, computer workstations and a conference area. The Career Express provides career assistance to students, job seekers, employers and community groups wherever needed in Connecticut.

national information about careers and employment opportunities. State sites
