The Missouri Occupational Information Coordinating Committee (MOICC) is responsible for providing career information publications and software to Missouri citizens, especially counselors, students, teachers, workforce development and vocational rehabilitation professionals. MOICC also provides training on how to use these resources, and coordinates the data that goes into these products between member agencies. |

The most rapid growth last year was in financial activities. Educational and health services added the most jobs, followed by trade, transportation and utilities. Manufacturing products are led by greeting cards, automatic merchandising machines, lumber and wood products, ammunition, paper products and automobiles. Life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and information technology are target industries.
The January 2006 unemployment rate was 4.7%, as compared to 5.6% in April 2005. |

• Missouri is developing a Careers DVD, organized by clusters, users can choose careers that interest them and explore wage and outlook information. The DVD was chosen as the delivery method over the Web due to bandwidth limitations in many of Missouri’s small school districts.
• MOICC is actively partnering with MOHELA (the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority) to find new ways to increase the level of student transitions to postsecondary instruction. This unique partnership is a result of the formation of the Missouri Career Management Information System Committee, which seeks to establish wider support and a sustainable model for funding Missouri’s Career Information Delivery Systems (CIDS).
• The Missouri Economic Research and Information Center provides a full range of occupational and industry data, projections, and target industries.
