• The Virgin Islands Legislature has asked the Department of Education, along with its vocational boards, to develop a new vocational curriculum plan that addresses labor market needs.
• A Marine Action Group was formed to stimulate private sector labor in the growing marine arena. The group has initiated and assisted with new legislation for the development of marine academy and hospitality postsecondary institutions. The mission is to rebuild the marine industry and provide careers for Virgin Island youth.
